Today I thought: I have been using silver on my Christmas cards and want to try using the gold. The gold doily was perfect for the sketch. The gold is carried throughout the card with gold embossing on the holly and the sentiment.
The front sentiment is inked with VersaMark and gold embossing powder added. The inside sentiment and holly are inked with Mossy Meadow and gold embossing powder added. It is hard to see this in the pictures, but it gives a shimmer the card.
The leaves of the holly were colored with Old Olive marker, blotted off and then heat set again. This brings out the gold over the Mossy Meadow ink a bit more. I colored the berries with Cherry Cobbler markers before stamping the holly. Using this technique instead of VersaMark gives a bit more color without completely covering it up with the gold emboss.
Thinking of You at Christmas Card didn’t take to long to make and I will probably be repeating this for my own set of Christmas cards.
