Crumb Cake, Soft Suede and Delightful Dijon are the colors I used for this card. The color combination is a little dark and not as cheery as you would expect for a congratulations card according to my husband. I was going for a masculine style. I even left off the lace trim because it didn’t coordinate with the masculine scheme. What do you think? Is the color combination too dark for a congratulations card?
Lately I find myself using a sponge or sponge dauber quite a bit. I just love the effects you can get when sponging color around the edges. It adds so much depth to the card. On the inside of the card, I sponged a border by masking the center and the left side at the fold. At first glance you might think I layered the inside. The star gives the same effect, but it is Crumb Cake on Crumb Cake sponged with Soft Suede ink.
Let me know what you think of the color combination.
