Birthday CardBirthday Card in Wisteria Wonder is designed for a card sketch at i Love Card SketchesilCS-02 sketch.

My husband said he wasn’t sure about all the PURPLE on this card.  Then again, he admits he doesn’t like PURPLE.  Myself, I like the different shades on this card with both Wisteria Wonder and Elegant Eggplant.

I love using the Decorative Masks to create backgrounds.  This design is just one of four included in the Happy Patterns set.  You can use these for a complete background or just a small portion on a layer of your card.

For the sentiment, I stamped the image once on Sahara Sand and once on Wisteria Wonder.  I fussy cut around the Wisteria Wonder flag and attached it over that same portion stamped on Sahara Sand.

The center panel and circles are stamped in Wisteria Wonder using the multiple flowers image from Birthday Blossoms stamp set.  The flowers on the circles are highlighted using a blender pen and more Wisteria Wonder and Elegant Eggplant ink.

Lastly I had to add some bling with small rhinestones on the center of some flowers and on the sentiment.

I do hope you like the PURPLE in this Birthday Card in Wisteria Wonder.  To see more examples using this sketch, visit i Love Card Sketches.

Merry Christmas Stars Card Merry Christmas Stars Card starts with the new sketch over at i Love Card Sketches.

ilCS-02 sketchThe Stars framelits were used to create different sizes of stars in Night of Navy and Daffodil Delight.    I used the I Love Lace background stamp and clear embossing powder to emboss the stars and added Dazzling Diamonds while the embossing was still liquid.  Take a look at the closeup.  The picture doesn’t do the stars justice.  I think it adds just a little sparkle without overwhelming the card.  You could probably get a close effect using Heat n Stick powder.

Closeup of stars on Merry Christmas Stars CardThe Soft Sky background is also embossed with stars using the Lucky Stars embossing folder.

The sentiment is stamped and then punched out with the Modern Label punch.  I layered that over another Modern Label punched from Night of Navy card stock and cut in half.  I added a bit of Night of Navy ribbon threaded through each end of the sentiment.  I like the gathered look of the ribbon.  Yes, it is possible to get it through the 1/16″ hole, but be careful not to tear.
