The Scrunched Flowers Technique was just the right way to embellish this card for a special lady for her birthday.
The front is completed with Venetian Romance Designer Series Paper (130144), Finishing Touches Edgelits (127010), and Labels Collection Framelits (125598). The stamped message is from Bring On The Cake – Clear-Mount Stamp Set(121958).
For the inside of the card, I added several of the Scrunched Flowers and a blue bird (Bird Builder punch 117191). I used the 5/8 Inch Crochet Trim Victoria (118481) across the top and bottom.
The video below demonstrates how to make the Scrunched Flowers.

For today’s Color Challenge, I decided to try doing a video for the first time so I could show you how to make these cool 3-D flowers. View the video below and let me know how I did!
As always, I started with a color combination from the Color Coach.
Cardstock: Sahara Sand (#121043), Regal Rose (#105130), Tempting Turquoise (#102067) and Gumball Green (#126840) for the leaves.
Classic Ink: Regal Rose (#126947)
Stamp Set: Elements of Style (#120045) flourish
Secret Garden Framelits (#129372)
Apothecary Accents Framelits (#127003)
Elegant Bouquet Embossing Folder (#115964)
Big Shot Die-Cut Machine (#113439)
1/8″ Taffeta Ribbon Regal Rose (#122965)
Rhinestone Basic Jewels (#119246)
Bone Folder (#102300)
Multipurpose Liquid Glue (#110755)
Sponge daubers (#102892)
The base of the card was made with the Sahara Sand cardstock. I trimmed the top of the Tempting Turquoise layer with the largest framelit from the Apothecary Accents Framelits. Then I textured the layer by running it through the Elegant Bouquet Embossing Folder. The flower petals and leaves were cut using the Secret Garden Framelits. After all the layers were put together I added the Regal Rose ribbon along the edge.
The video will show you how I made the flowers.
The video is a little rough in places, but hopefully you weren’t too distracted. It is not just the video, I stumble over finding the right words in real life too. I look forward to seeing your comments below and I’d love to see your samples using the same technique.
