Thank You Card It is time to start thinking about Thank You Cards for all those received gifts or holiday parties.

Today’s card is a change from the holiday cards and colors.  The color scheme is more fall colors, but I couldn’t pass up a chance to use the English Garden Designer Series Paper.  I like the watercolor look to the print.  The Designer Series Papers are so wonderful to work with because they are two-sided.  The diagonal stripe is the back of the floral print and makes it super easy to coordinate.

The Designer Series Papers also make it easy to pick the color scheme for the card because the colors in the prints are listed on the package and you just have to pick the matching card stock.  Stampin’ Up! has made it even easier because they now offer a coordinating card stock package for the Designer Series Papers.  For instance:  English Garden 8-1/2″ X 11″ Card stock Assortment Pack (138999) includes 8 pieces each of Hello Honey, Old Olive, and Soft Suede.

For the inside of the card, I repeated the same scallop circle with the Thank You sentiment. Thank You Card inside

Birthday CardBirthday Card in Wisteria Wonder is designed for a card sketch at i Love Card SketchesilCS-02 sketch.

My husband said he wasn’t sure about all the PURPLE on this card.  Then again, he admits he doesn’t like PURPLE.  Myself, I like the different shades on this card with both Wisteria Wonder and Elegant Eggplant.

I love using the Decorative Masks to create backgrounds.  This design is just one of four included in the Happy Patterns set.  You can use these for a complete background or just a small portion on a layer of your card.

For the sentiment, I stamped the image once on Sahara Sand and once on Wisteria Wonder.  I fussy cut around the Wisteria Wonder flag and attached it over that same portion stamped on Sahara Sand.

The center panel and circles are stamped in Wisteria Wonder using the multiple flowers image from Birthday Blossoms stamp set.  The flowers on the circles are highlighted using a blender pen and more Wisteria Wonder and Elegant Eggplant ink.

Lastly I had to add some bling with small rhinestones on the center of some flowers and on the sentiment.

I do hope you like the PURPLE in this Birthday Card in Wisteria Wonder.  To see more examples using this sketch, visit i Love Card Sketches.

Note Card & Pouch Note Card & PouchLove You Note Card & Pouch is designed for the card sketch at i Love Card Sketches.

I am traveling during the Thanksgiving holiday  so I decided to bring along some Paper Pumpkin kits and some basic stamping tools.  Today’s card and pouch are created from the Love You A Lot kit.  As I did with the card I designed on Monday, I used my stacked round measuring cups to create the circles .  Everything else is included in the kit except the needed paper snips and adhesive.  Even the glue dots are included.iLCS-01 sketch

There are instructions included to complete the suggested projects, but as I did, you can always do your own thing.

You can find more examples with this sketch at i Love Card Sketches.

Birthday CardSew You Birthday Card is designed using Stampin’ Up! Paper Pumpkin supplies.

My challenge today was to use the Mojo Monday card sketch and one of three Paper Pumpkin kits I have with me while traveling.

Paper Pumpkin is perfect for traveling.  Each kit includes paper, ink, stamps, accessories and instructions to make several projects.  The supplies I used today are from the Sew You Paper Pumpkin kit.

Along with the kit I brought some very basic stamping supplies:  paper snips, bone folder, and adhesive.

The black and white patterned  paper is part of the card bases from the kit.  The blue paper is cut from an envelope included in the kit.  The yellow embroidery thread and the blue star accents are also included in the kit.

It was a challenge  to cut circles and rounded corners without my trusted punches and framelits, but I finally discovered I could use my stacked measuring cups to trace the circles.  I cut them out with paper snips and smoothed them as needed with an emery board.

Thank You CardYou are so kind Card Sketch is designed for the card sketch this week at i Love Card Sketches.

The background for the large butterfly is triple-stamped and then cut out with the large butterfly framelit.  The Pacific Point front of the butterfly is cut with the large butterfly thinlit and then layered over the background.  I added the rhinestones for the body, but I am missing the antennae.

I made the card a week or so ago and just found the tiny antennae stamp on my floor just a few days ago.  I found it while I was looking for another small photopolymer stamp that had gone missing.

The question is:  How do you keep track of those tiny stamps, especially the photopolymer stamps that are so nice and clear?  I am trying to train myself to immediately clean my photopolymer stamps to avoid as much staining as possible, but I don’t always put them away until later.  That has led to missing images on more than one occasion.  More training is needed because these older eyes have a really hard time finding things that fall to the floor.  My worse fear is that they will end up in the trash.  Any suggestions for me?

OK – so clean immediately and then store back in the case immediately.  That seems such a simple answer, but when I’m on a roll with creating, I hate to stop for such mundane things.  C’est la vie.

Birthday CardBest Day Ever birthday card is designed based on Mojo Monday card sketch.

Another card in my birthday series-created for my middle son who turns 45 in a few weeks.  I thought the black and vanilla monochromatic colors would fit right in for the occasion.

This is a quick and easy card even though there are several layers.  The lines are softened by the rounded corners and the circle.

Cut the shapes, sponge the front elements, and stamp the sentiment.  I love the stamp sets like Birthday Blossoms that have sentiments to mix and match like this.  The third message inside, of course, is the Happy Birthday stamp surrounded with sponged black.

Birthday CardHappy Birthday Balloon Card Sketch is designed for the card sketch this week at i Love Card Sketches.

This fun birthday card  is for one of my grandchildren.  When everyone is gearing up for the holidays, I am neck deep in family birthdays.  I love creating a variety of birthday cards this time of year for adults, children, male and female.

The sketch this week cried out to me for a balloon celebration.  You can create balloons is a variety of sizes with the the Circle Collection of framelits.  I used the 3/4″ circle punch for the small balloons because it was handy, but you can just as easily use the smaller circle framelits.

The primary colors are perfect for a children’s card.

birthday card

birthday card insideCelebrate Birthday Card is the beginning of my birthday season. Design follows a card sketch over at Mojo Monday.

Over the next six weeks I have several family birthdays, many of them male.  Usually this time of year you will see holiday cards being featured, but not for me.  I need to get busy and so this is my first one for our eldest son.

It looks a little complex, but most of the design is created with the Bohemian Designer Series Paper with very little stamping.  The front of the card is layered with card stock and the Designer Series Paper.  On the inside I added a block of color and the sentiment.

Friendship Card ILCS53Friendship is the SPICE of life Friendship Card is my interpretation of the i Love Card Sketches sketch this week.

I know it is not exactly a winter card, but I needed a break from holiday themed projects.  This card can still express your appreciate of a friend even this time of year.

The stamped images are all fussy cut and added to the brick wall with dimensionals.  Usually when I color an embossing folder I don’t want the overinking, but for the bricks, it works great.

As I am typing this up, I see an opportunity to add a little bling.  Maybe I should add a rhinestone in the middle of the heart flower.
