Birthday CardBest Day Ever birthday card is designed based on Mojo Monday card sketch.

Another card in my birthday series-created for my middle son who turns 45 in a few weeks.  I thought the black and vanilla monochromatic colors would fit right in for the occasion.

This is a quick and easy card even though there are several layers.  The lines are softened by the rounded corners and the circle.

Cut the shapes, sponge the front elements, and stamp the sentiment.  I love the stamp sets like Birthday Blossoms that have sentiments to mix and match like this.  The third message inside, of course, is the Happy Birthday stamp surrounded with sponged black.

Butterflies & FlowersButterflies & Flowers is an all occasion card designed for i Love Card Sketches.  I am going to use this as a get well card for a dear friend who recently fell and broke her leg.

The card style is a modified gate fold.  I decided to leave just 1 1/4″ gate on the left side and let it overlap the larger 3 1/2″ gate on the right side.  This provides an inside center panel for a stamped greeting and a right panel to write a little bit longer note.

I love making flowers with the coordinating stamps and framelits.  It makes it so easy and there is no end to the possibilities you can create.  Add a brick wall background for the flowers and add fluttering butterflies to complete the picture.  I am hoping this will add a little color and cheer as my friend convalesces.

Get Well CardSending a Kiss Get Well Card is inspired by the card sketch this week at i Love Card Sketches.

Look closely at the background to see the fluttering butterflies flying diagonally across the paper – each one representing a butterfly kiss.

The key to getting the squares straight on the card front is to use a small ruler.  I hold down the card front with some painter’s tape on top of grid paper.  Then I can place the ruler on the grid lines and place the squares up against the ruler.  If your ruler and card front are straight on the grid paper, the squares will be perfectly placed on the card front.

iLCS47The colors are picked up from the squares of the Bohemian Designer Series Paper.  The mats are in Delightful Dijon  card stock and the inked sentiments are in Rich Razzleberry ink.  The Whisper White sentiment diamond edges are also lightly inked with Rich Razzleberry.

get wellHow Are You?  Today’s tall & skinny get well card can also be used for just keeping in touch.  I had it in mind for a get well card, but the inside is blank and would make a perfect note card for male or female.

The tall & skinny style card fits into a common #6 3/4 envelope.  This card measures 3 1/2″ X 6″ giving you a little extra height.

The only stamping on the card is for the three small hexagons down the center.  The tiny hexagons are cut from Very Vanilla using the Hexagon Hive Thinlits.  I just cut a few of the hexagons and stamped them.  The Hello Honey layers are punched out.  And, the background layer of Crumb Cake is run through the Honeycomb embossing folder.

Once the elements for the card are created they are easy to assemble with glue and dimensionals.

Christmas CardToday’s Wonderful Moments Christmas Card highlights another beautiful bundle in the upcoming Stampin’ Up! Holiday catalog.

The Perfect Pines Photopolymer Bundle includes 3 sizes of tree framelits as well as decoration options.  Here I have used the “dots” or “ornaments” coordinating framelit to decorate the tree with golden ornaments.  The top tree is cut from Always Artichoke card stock.  Another tree is cut from Gold Foil using the same framelit without  the “ornaments”.  When the two are layered together you get a beautiful little tree with golden ornaments.  I used an embossing stylus to help the gold pop to the front.

The background is stamped lightly with a couple of trees from the Peaceful Pines stamp set which is part of the bundle.

The frame is created with the new Boughs & Berries Textured Impressions Embossing Folder and the center is cut out with one of the framelits from Cards & Labels Framelits.

The Wonderful Moments Christmas Card uses a very traditional color scheme.  You can see more holiday projects here every Friday.  Follow Paper Crafts Obsession on Facebook so you don’t miss the upcoming holiday projects.

iLSC39 Linda 1_medHere is Linda’s interpretation of the card sketch at i Love Card Sketches.

She has used Sahara Sand for the card base and Very Vanilla and Basic Grey for the accent squares.  She added a little Timeless Elegance Designer Series Paper on the left and set it off with Very Vanilla Taffeta ribbon.

You cannot leave off the bling.  Just a little Dazzling Diamonds glitter on the butterfly wings doesn’t show up in the photo, but is just right in person.
