Birthday CardSew You Birthday Card is designed using Stampin’ Up! Paper Pumpkin supplies.

My challenge today was to use the Mojo Monday card sketch and one of three Paper Pumpkin kits I have with me while traveling.

Paper Pumpkin is perfect for traveling.  Each kit includes paper, ink, stamps, accessories and instructions to make several projects.  The supplies I used today are from the Sew You Paper Pumpkin kit.

Along with the kit I brought some very basic stamping supplies:  paper snips, bone folder, and adhesive.

The black and white patterned  paper is part of the card bases from the kit.  The blue paper is cut from an envelope included in the kit.  The yellow embroidery thread and the blue star accents are also included in the kit.

It was a challenge  to cut circles and rounded corners without my trusted punches and framelits, but I finally discovered I could use my stacked measuring cups to trace the circles.  I cut them out with paper snips and smoothed them as needed with an emery board.

Paper Pumpkin is a subscription kit program by Stampin’ Up! Each month a fully designed project kit arrives at your door filled with stamps, ink, and paper—everything cut and ready to go, so you can skip to the fun. You’ll enjoy fun projects like cards, gift packaging, home décor, and more for just $19.95 a month (shipping included).  Subscribe today for yourself or give as a gift.

Sleigh Ride Ornament Card (2)The Sleigh Ride Ornament Card uses some of my favorite dies.  Notice there is no stamping on the front of this card-only the die cuts and embossing.

I am traveling and visiting family for the next couple of weeks so I don’t have my usual photographic tools available.  Therefore, my lighting is not the best to show off this beautiful card.

The sleigh and ornament topper are done is the Silver Glimmer Paper.  Also the “joy” is die cut from the Silver Glimmer Paper.  I used the “enjoy” thinlit from the Mini Treat Bag Thinlits Dies and just cut off the “en”.

Vellum card stock is used over the Soft Sky card stock of the ornament and “joy” .  Both pieces of vellum are embossed with the Softly Falling embossing folder as well as the Whisper White background.

I hope you enjoy the Sleigh Ride Ornament Card and will try going ink free.

Thank You CardYou are so kind Card Sketch is designed for the card sketch this week at i Love Card Sketches.

The background for the large butterfly is triple-stamped and then cut out with the large butterfly framelit.  The Pacific Point front of the butterfly is cut with the large butterfly thinlit and then layered over the background.  I added the rhinestones for the body, but I am missing the antennae.

I made the card a week or so ago and just found the tiny antennae stamp on my floor just a few days ago.  I found it while I was looking for another small photopolymer stamp that had gone missing.

The question is:  How do you keep track of those tiny stamps, especially the photopolymer stamps that are so nice and clear?  I am trying to train myself to immediately clean my photopolymer stamps to avoid as much staining as possible, but I don’t always put them away until later.  That has led to missing images on more than one occasion.  More training is needed because these older eyes have a really hard time finding things that fall to the floor.  My worse fear is that they will end up in the trash.  Any suggestions for me?

OK – so clean immediately and then store back in the case immediately.  That seems such a simple answer, but when I’m on a roll with creating, I hate to stop for such mundane things.  C’est la vie.

Birthday CardHappy Birthday Balloon Card Sketch is designed for the card sketch this week at i Love Card Sketches.

This fun birthday card  is for one of my grandchildren.  When everyone is gearing up for the holidays, I am neck deep in family birthdays.  I love creating a variety of birthday cards this time of year for adults, children, male and female.

The sketch this week cried out to me for a balloon celebration.  You can create balloons is a variety of sizes with the the Circle Collection of framelits.  I used the 3/4″ circle punch for the small balloons because it was handy, but you can just as easily use the smaller circle framelits.

The primary colors are perfect for a children’s card.

birthday card

birthday card insideCelebrate Birthday Card is the beginning of my birthday season. Design follows a card sketch over at Mojo Monday.

Over the next six weeks I have several family birthdays, many of them male.  Usually this time of year you will see holiday cards being featured, but not for me.  I need to get busy and so this is my first one for our eldest son.

It looks a little complex, but most of the design is created with the Bohemian Designer Series Paper with very little stamping.  The front of the card is layered with card stock and the Designer Series Paper.  On the inside I added a block of color and the sentiment.

Friendship Card ILCS53Friendship is the SPICE of life Friendship Card is my interpretation of the i Love Card Sketches sketch this week.

I know it is not exactly a winter card, but I needed a break from holiday themed projects.  This card can still express your appreciate of a friend even this time of year.

The stamped images are all fussy cut and added to the brick wall with dimensionals.  Usually when I color an embossing folder I don’t want the overinking, but for the bricks, it works great.

As I am typing this up, I see an opportunity to add a little bling.  Maybe I should add a rhinestone in the middle of the heart flower.

If you like today’s card sketch, you can go over to i Love Card Sketches and take a look at other examples.

See the supply list below for today’s Friendship Card.

Christmas cardInside cardThe Christmas Landscape Card is all about the inside 3D window scene.  The front of the card is a mountain and trees view, but the inside of the card looks through the window, complete with drapes, showing the decorated Christmas tree.

The card was inspired by a friend of mine whom I have featured before here on my blog.  Linda Campbell is such a talented paper crafter.  She showed me a similar design and I had to try it myself.

Look back at my post a few weeks ago to see another example and more details about creating the landscape on the front of this card.

The card is made with a 5 1/2″ X 11″ piece of card stock.  You can create your scene on the inside middle panel.  The panels are separated with 1/4″ lines so when folded you have a 3D look.  The card folds flat to fit into a standard medium envelope.

birthday cardTall & Skinny Happy Birthday card is designed for a card sketch.  This tall & skinny card fits into a 6 3/4 envelope.

I love this color combination.  The more I use the Mint Macaron color, the more I like it.  The addition of Pacific Point makes it pop and picks up the Pacific Point butterflies.

A bit of texture is added with the background diagonal embossed strips.  This coordinates with the printed diagonal lines on the Designer Series Paper.  It almost looks like both the card stock and the Designer Series Paper were both embossed.  You could, but no it is not on this card.

You can find all your Stampin’ Up! needs 24/7 in my Online Store.  A complete list of supplies for the Tall & Skinny Happy Birthday card is below.

Baked Goods belly bandSpreading a little Christmas cheer with Baked Goods Box & Label.  This little box is perfect for giving mini sweet bread loafs, cookies or candy.  Spice up your package with a Merry Christmas belly band.

Add that festive touch to your gift of baked goods by placing them in a handmade box and decorating with a belly band label.

The label is quick and easy to stamp and assemble.  You can add the ribbon to the back of the label and it is ready to wrap around your package and tape in the back.

For the box shown, all you need is a single sheet of card stock.  The sides are 2 1/4″ high and the length is 6 1/2″ and it is 4″ across.  You can adjust the dimensions to make the box smaller.   The box is assembled with Tear & Tape Adhesive.

Stamp the message on Whisper White card stock.  Use the small tree thinlit from the Square Pillow Box thinlits set and cut out the trees.  Layer the Whisper White card stock over a slightly smaller piece of Cucumber Crush card stock.  I used Tear & Tape Adhesive to attach the doily to the Cucumber Crush lace trim.

Email me if you would further information on how to assemble the Baked Goods Box & Label.  Order your Stampin’ Up! supplies 24/7 through my Online Store.
