birthday cardTall & Skinny Happy Birthday card is designed for a card sketch.  This tall & skinny card fits into a 6 3/4 envelope.

I love this color combination.  The more I use the Mint Macaron color, the more I like it.  The addition of Pacific Point makes it pop and picks up the Pacific Point butterflies.

A bit of texture is added with the background diagonal embossed strips.  This coordinates with the printed diagonal lines on the Designer Series Paper.  It almost looks like both the card stock and the Designer Series Paper were both embossed.  You could, but no it is not on this card.

You can find all your Stampin’ Up! needs 24/7 in my Online Store.  A complete list of supplies for the Tall & Skinny Happy Birthday card is below.

juvenile birthday cardSea Street Birthday Card is designed for the card sketch at i Love Card Sketches this week.

I love the Schoolhouse Designer Series Paper.  It has a good variety of designs that can be used for different types of cards.  The bold stripes today coupled with the Sea Street stamp set gives this card a youthful/playful theme.  The colors in the stripes are picked up in the different ink and mat colors.

The friendly octopus is stamped first and then masked before adding the fish and starfish.  The birthday sentiment is also masked before adding the anchors.

You can see other cards using this card sketch at i Love Card Sketches.  We offer a new card sketch every week on Wednesday.  You can also upload and share your creations using the sketch.  I look forward to seeing your creations.iLCS48

All Occasional CardGo Team is designed for a card sketch challenge.  It could be used as an encouragement card, get well card, just because card or even a birthday card.  You can switch up the color scheme to match the recipient’s team colors.  It is football season again and anyone who follows the sport would appreciate this card.  I know two of my grandsons will be getting one in orange and black for the Oregon State Beavers.

The card is relatively quick & easy to create and assemble.  Punch or cut the circles, add a little texture to the background and a sentiment and you are finished.

Sometimes it is hard to find a stamp set for teens or males.  With the Simply Sports stamp set, it is easy to switch out the sport theme, choose their favorite team colors and you are well on your way to letting a special young adult know you care.

Special day cardBright, vivid colors are used for today’s “happy day” card.  I created this for a card sketch challenge.

The color combination comes from the Bohemian Designer Series Paper.  The color scheme is a little outside my usual comfort zone, but I was determined to try some of these patterns and colors.  I think the Very Vanilla borders and center keep the colors toned down a bit.

The card can be used for any special day and definitely can be used for a masculine card.  Just an appropriate sentiment to the blank inside and the card is ready to go.  I like to have several of these types of cards on hand so I can grab one and finished the inside.  In minutes the card is on its way.

How do you like the colors and patterns today?  Thank you for checking my blog and please leave a comment.

Happy Birthday StarsToday’s Happy Birthday Stars card is designed for a card sketch using all Stampin’ Up! supplies.

The paper is from the Cherry on Top Designer Series Paper Stack.  The Designer Series Paper allows you to coordinate the whole card and pick your color scheme.  I added a diagonal strip of the Bermuda Bay 1 1/4″ Striped Grosgrain Ribbon.

You always need a bit of bling and the glimmer paper stars and the glitter on the candles is just the right touch.

The card is colored using ink pads and a blender pen.  I cut out the cake and then re-drew the candles.  This makes it look better and is so much easier than trying to fussy cut around the stamped candles.

Thanks for stopping by to see my birthday project.  If you would like to see more projects right in your inbox, sign up for the Paper Crafts Obsession newsletter.

Best WishesThe Timeless Elegance Designer Series Paper makes this Wedding Card a snap to put together.  Using the Corner Garden stamp to coordinate with the Designer Series Paper ties the the theme together.

I used Silver embossing powder to make the sentiment pop and to add a bit of sparkle.  The heart in the center has several layers of the Silver embossing powder and is attached with a glue dot to make sure it stays in place.

You can purchase your Stampin’ Up! supplies in my Online Store 24/7.

All Occasional CardToday’s All Occasion Note Card is designed for i Love Card Sketches.

The black and white background is so striking with the splash of color for the focal image.

The Whisper White card base is embossed with the Zig Zag embossing folder before attaching the Designer Series Paper on the left.

Creating the butterfly was the most fun.  First the image is stamped with VersaMark and black embossing powder is applied and heat set.  Then I used a combination of Tempting Turquoise and Pumpkin Pie markers and a blender pen to get the colors I wanted.

Here is the sketch.

Masculine Birthday CardILCS24 sketchMy Birthday Rocks masculine birthday day card is designed for the sketch this week at i Love Card Sketches.

On Monday I posted a card I designed for my husband’s birthday, but I think he will like this one better.  He is a real rock hound and will appreciate the Adventure Bound Designer Series Paper on this card.

The Polka Dot embossing folder is used on both the Sahara Sand and the Basic Gray accent pieces.  The large dots are colored with a sponge dauber using both Sahara Sand and Basic Gray ink.

I didn’t have any gray ribbon so I mixed a little alcohol and a few drops of Basic Gray ink refill in a small plastic.  Just drop the small pieces of ribbon into the liquid for a minute.  I pulled them out with my craft tweezers and dried them with a heat tool.  Voila!  Gray ribbon!

The Whisper White label is sponged lightly all over with Sahara Sand ink and then a little darker around the edges.  As I’m looking at the card now, I’m thinking a little sponging around the polka dot piece of Sahara Sand might look nice.  Also maybe sponge around the designer series paper with Basic Gray ink.  Ideas to remember for next time.

Share your opinion on this card and take a look at Monday’s card.  Let me know which one you would prefer for a masculine card.
