Birthday CardBirthday Card in Wisteria Wonder is designed for a card sketch at i Love Card SketchesilCS-02 sketch.

My husband said he wasn’t sure about all the PURPLE on this card.  Then again, he admits he doesn’t like PURPLE.  Myself, I like the different shades on this card with both Wisteria Wonder and Elegant Eggplant.

I love using the Decorative Masks to create backgrounds.  This design is just one of four included in the Happy Patterns set.  You can use these for a complete background or just a small portion on a layer of your card.

For the sentiment, I stamped the image once on Sahara Sand and once on Wisteria Wonder.  I fussy cut around the Wisteria Wonder flag and attached it over that same portion stamped on Sahara Sand.

The center panel and circles are stamped in Wisteria Wonder using the multiple flowers image from Birthday Blossoms stamp set.  The flowers on the circles are highlighted using a blender pen and more Wisteria Wonder and Elegant Eggplant ink.

Lastly I had to add some bling with small rhinestones on the center of some flowers and on the sentiment.

I do hope you like the PURPLE in this Birthday Card in Wisteria Wonder.  To see more examples using this sketch, visit i Love Card Sketches.

Birthday CardSew You Birthday Card is designed using Stampin’ Up! Paper Pumpkin supplies.

My challenge today was to use the Mojo Monday card sketch and one of three Paper Pumpkin kits I have with me while traveling.

Paper Pumpkin is perfect for traveling.  Each kit includes paper, ink, stamps, accessories and instructions to make several projects.  The supplies I used today are from the Sew You Paper Pumpkin kit.

Along with the kit I brought some very basic stamping supplies:  paper snips, bone folder, and adhesive.

The black and white patterned  paper is part of the card bases from the kit.  The blue paper is cut from an envelope included in the kit.  The yellow embroidery thread and the blue star accents are also included in the kit.

It was a challenge  to cut circles and rounded corners without my trusted punches and framelits, but I finally discovered I could use my stacked measuring cups to trace the circles.  I cut them out with paper snips and smoothed them as needed with an emery board.

Paper Pumpkin is a subscription kit program by Stampin’ Up! Each month a fully designed project kit arrives at your door filled with stamps, ink, and paper—everything cut and ready to go, so you can skip to the fun. You’ll enjoy fun projects like cards, gift packaging, home décor, and more for just $19.95 a month (shipping included).  Subscribe today for yourself or give as a gift.

Birthday CardBest Day Ever birthday card is designed based on Mojo Monday card sketch.

Another card in my birthday series-created for my middle son who turns 45 in a few weeks.  I thought the black and vanilla monochromatic colors would fit right in for the occasion.

This is a quick and easy card even though there are several layers.  The lines are softened by the rounded corners and the circle.

Cut the shapes, sponge the front elements, and stamp the sentiment.  I love the stamp sets like Birthday Blossoms that have sentiments to mix and match like this.  The third message inside, of course, is the Happy Birthday stamp surrounded with sponged black.

Birthday CardHappy Birthday Balloon Card Sketch is designed for the card sketch this week at i Love Card Sketches.

This fun birthday card  is for one of my grandchildren.  When everyone is gearing up for the holidays, I am neck deep in family birthdays.  I love creating a variety of birthday cards this time of year for adults, children, male and female.

The sketch this week cried out to me for a balloon celebration.  You can create balloons is a variety of sizes with the the Circle Collection of framelits.  I used the 3/4″ circle punch for the small balloons because it was handy, but you can just as easily use the smaller circle framelits.

The primary colors are perfect for a children’s card.

birthday card

birthday card insideCelebrate Birthday Card is the beginning of my birthday season. Design follows a card sketch over at Mojo Monday.

Over the next six weeks I have several family birthdays, many of them male.  Usually this time of year you will see holiday cards being featured, but not for me.  I need to get busy and so this is my first one for our eldest son.

It looks a little complex, but most of the design is created with the Bohemian Designer Series Paper with very little stamping.  The front of the card is layered with card stock and the Designer Series Paper.  On the inside I added a block of color and the sentiment.

Check out the list of supplies I used on the Celebrate Birthday Card:

birthday cardinside birthday cardButterfly Birthday card is designed for the card sketch at i Love Card Sketches.

The front butterflies are embossed with black embossing powder and then colored with markers and punched out.  When attached with dimensionals it gives them more of a feeling of flight.  The inside butterfly is stamped with Basic Black but not embossed.  Notice the difference between the two.

A bit more texture is added with the dotted embossed background on the Mint Macaron card stock.

birthday cardTall & Skinny Happy Birthday card is designed for a card sketch.  This tall & skinny card fits into a 6 3/4 envelope.

I love this color combination.  The more I use the Mint Macaron color, the more I like it.  The addition of Pacific Point makes it pop and picks up the Pacific Point butterflies.

A bit of texture is added with the background diagonal embossed strips.  This coordinates with the printed diagonal lines on the Designer Series Paper.  It almost looks like both the card stock and the Designer Series Paper were both embossed.  You could, but no it is not on this card.

You can find all your Stampin’ Up! needs 24/7 in my Online Store.  A complete list of supplies for the Tall & Skinny Happy Birthday card is below.

juvenile birthday cardSea Street Birthday Card is designed for the card sketch at i Love Card Sketches this week.

I love the Schoolhouse Designer Series Paper.  It has a good variety of designs that can be used for different types of cards.  The bold stripes today coupled with the Sea Street stamp set gives this card a youthful/playful theme.  The colors in the stripes are picked up in the different ink and mat colors.

The friendly octopus is stamped first and then masked before adding the fish and starfish.  The birthday sentiment is also masked before adding the anchors.

You can see other cards using this card sketch at i Love Card Sketches.  We offer a new card sketch every week on Wednesday.  You can also upload and share your creations using the sketch.  I look forward to seeing your creations.iLCS48

Special day cardBright, vivid colors are used for today’s “happy day” card.  I created this for a card sketch challenge.

The color combination comes from the Bohemian Designer Series Paper.  The color scheme is a little outside my usual comfort zone, but I was determined to try some of these patterns and colors.  I think the Very Vanilla borders and center keep the colors toned down a bit.

The card can be used for any special day and definitely can be used for a masculine card.  Just an appropriate sentiment to the blank inside and the card is ready to go.  I like to have several of these types of cards on hand so I can grab one and finished the inside.  In minutes the card is on its way.

How do you like the colors and patterns today?  Thank you for checking my blog and please leave a comment.
